It’s grey, raining and miserable outside. We’ve had storm Ciara over the last weekend and set for another this weekend. Great. January/February never great, lets be honest but god I am thankful for my safe house. My elevated corner plot, no water getting in here – well unless the drains back up. I pray for the families that have been flooded, I can’t imagine. It must be devastating. I have so much to be thankful for. A husband whose resilience is stronger and greater than mine. Who just gets up every day and does life, does work? Made redundant four times in his work life and gets on with it. Who provides for us all. He’s not a depressive character. He doesn’t moan. He gets annoyed by stupid things and loses his rag about stupid things, but it’s the small stuff not the big stuff. He doesn’t lose his shit to do with the big stuff in life – work, family crisis, emotional stuff, health. No, he’s strong, consistent and can be relied upon. Small stuff not the big stuff.
I am thankful for my healthy, happy (in a teenage way) children. Both wanting to achieve at school and doing well. Both got nice friends. Yes, they argue with me and wind me up but they aren’t scared of me and can talk to me. They are head strong. They will do well and I’m proud of them.
