Day Nine & Ten 'No sugar February'

Doing this challenge has made me evaluate the sugar I actually miss and want in my everyday life.

I met a lovely friend for a coffee today and she asked me what I have missed or am I missing regarding sugar and you know the answer – jam on my toast and mayonnaise. Not the endless, pointless bags of milk chocolate goodies that I gauged on, or the endless bags of sweets I indulged in. No, I don’t actually miss that.

I miss jam and mayonnaise and both of those can be part of a balanced, stable diet. A healthy diet no less, a healthy diet that can be part of my life and is sustainable. Eating like a trollop on chocolate items is no sustainable and more body will not be pleased at all, in fact it was shouting at me, as I bent over to put my shoes on – it hurt my stomach, as I bent over! There had to come a change…. A change with choice.

Doing this challenge has made me evaluate the sugar I actually miss and want in my everyday life. As a child when we wanted a sugar hit, my mum always used to say – get a slice of toast with jam and you know – it always hit the spot and the sugar hit was erased or satisfied.
