Happy Valentine’s Day.
Today is Valentine’s Day. Ian got me a lovely card, nice smelling candle, some tulips and earrings. Feel rather spoilt. WE both wrote similar things in our cards – ‘know we’ve had our ups and downs’ etc…. is that just what you write after you’ve been with someone since 1999? 21 years? What 21 years, that’s mental! In 21 years, you are going to have your ups and downs. In fact, you’re probably wanted to kill them and leave them countless times – well that’s if you in a marriage of two strong willed people, two opinionated people, two people with their own lives living together. Two people who have changed and developed over time. I’m not the 23-year-old girl he met in 199! I’m a 44-year-old woman with two teenage children and a married stepdaughter. I’ve changed, developed, hopefully for the best, but my god I won’t have all the time. I’ll have been a mardy bitch, argumentative cow, stubborn, thrown tantrums, slammed doors, acted like a child.
But I will have also been a loving caring honest kind thoughtful patient respectful wife/friend/girlfriend too. And I guess I am more of the latter otherwise he would not be here. Happy Valentine’s Day.
